That's how I remember hearing it with the ex-GN units - you can also tell by which end the nose stripes are as they should have been painted with striping on the lead end only. |

I recall reading that a certin few were set up for it and most were not. I will have to look for the nose strip i guess. |

You can't go with the strips because many of the CB&Q SD9s had strips added to both ends. In one of the old annuals it talks about that because they were used on light branches and ran backwards as much as forwards. I guess a engineer asked for it or something. The ex GN units before the renumbering and when they were in the 6100s were numbered 6100 to 6126. The last two 6125 and 6126 were the two equiped with dynamic brakes and used out west.
