Today (12/19), DILGAL light power (BNSF 5447, BNSF 7674) went to the house in Northtown after dropping off their train in the Bluffs. The also picked up BNSF 9287 from a crewless coal train sitting at the Bluff. At the same time of their arrival, a fresh crew was taking the H-PASGAL out of Northtown. The PASGAL was planning on picking up a cut of the DILGAL. Last winter I saw a GALNTW power cut off their train at the Bluff and go light into Northtown, the BN-CP picked up the train several hours later. How often does this happen? Is it mainly due to 1000 hour inspection/power swap, or no room at the Inn? And if the T-yard appears empty, would there be no more room in Northtown. |

That would mean the reciever yard is full and usually no room is availible in the departure yard either. I've not been down there in about 10 years, mabye 8 to go can weigh in on this one if I'm mistaken. |

As one dispatcher put it, "Daytons Bluff is the new Northtown." |

It's amazing, being an outsider listening in on goings-on. Northtown looks like an immense place size-wise, but when it comes down to manuevering space and trackage, it sounds cramped. |

In the last year it has gotten to be downright pathetic. |
