I heard it go through Monticello at about 7:00 when I left for school. My dad just happened to leave work early and saw it in St. Michael at around 11:45 with a ex-BN and a Swoosh unit on it. He said it had a few covered hoppers and some lumber cars on it. |

I was outside around 5:30 or so and heard a train horn, so I waited for my dad to get home and we went into downtown Monti. We got down there and there was what looked like a railfan standing in the middle of Hwy. 25 and there was a light from a locomotive down towards the Community Center. We headed that way and saw an Ex-BN Geep switching a hopper car into the siding, accompanied by another railfan with a camera. We continued further down the street and saw a caboose marked "Specialized Rail Transport" hooked up to one of those Schnabel cars with what looked like a nuclear fuel cask on it. Does anyone know anything about this movement? |
