driving back from St. Cloud today, about 12:45 along Hwy 10, I saw a Westbound CSX Grain train with only cars marked for CSX and Conrail, with 2 CSX GEs on the point. What is this train doing on the Staples? Is CSX hauling a Grain Shutle from a elevator along the BNSF?

It isn't grain, i think its potash...not 100%, someone else will have to confirm. It is a CSX train going somewhere CSX doesn't serve.

I've seen a few of these myself. On the BNSF Morris sub, and on the CP.
