I just saw this on the news, so I thought I would post it here. A BNSF worker was pinned between a building and a boxcar that derailed when they were switching. Are there any regulations that say how far away from they tracks a business needs to be to prevent stuff like this? |

I heard in on the feed this morning but never heard anything more until tonite. the RCO realy had nothing to do with this situation. the reason for the fatality was that the employee was riding a shove on the "Zero Clearance" side of the box car, which is against the rules. if he had been on the other side of the box car he simply would have rode it out. as sad as it is that is the truth. I made that mistake ONCE and a wise old hogger set me straight. NEVER ride a shove on the building side. |

It sounds like they will be reenacting the incident tomorrow for the claims department so just a heads up if anyone is in the area and see's activity around 35th. |
