I had a rare day trackside this past Wednesday when Matt rolled up. As we hung out, he heard on the scanner a 7 unit train roll into NTW. One unit had reportedly shot a piston through the locomotive's shell. I think that would be a pants changing event, if you were next to the train! Any one know what happened or where (geographically speaking) it ejected? How common is it? |

I've never seen it happen before, but here is a video of it happening to a GE AC4400. I would not want to be standing next to one when it does blow a piston. |
