Post subject:  Z Trains disappearing???
Read this morning on the Yahoo Groups Outstateminnesotarail forum that the Z trains are going away. Apparently UPS is pulling there trailers from the trains. Speculation at this time is because of train delays and late arrivals. Anyone have any further info on this?

My guess would be the same trains will be running, but just under the Q symbol, which is a lower priority than Z. Though as another poster said, the UP may have already taken some of this traffic or may pick it up.

Sounds like BNSF's system has been bogged down causing the delays. Wonder if UPS/FedEx are playing hardball to get BNSF to react? With the Millions/Billions BNSF is saying it will spend in upgrades this year wonder if that will help? Seen a few Z looking trains held up during Northstar times. Still think Northstar should have used the I-94 tracks allowing HWY 10 to be for freight and Amtrak.

But, I'm not in a position for those decisions :lol:

I heard a Z train on the Staples Sub today, so at least one must be back, no symbol was given however.
