Thanks for the heads-up. I took a look at the link. BNSF 2249, the only GP28-2B is going to be 2060. I have to find my pics of it when it was switching in the Midway. |

So what are the thoughts on the locos the BNSF is going to start to mothball or sell off??? 40-2's and C44-9W's see alot of intermodel service and the big boys in the super fleet (SD60 and SD70's) running coal service. The new ACe's are being assinged to coal service maybe the latter going away when enough are on the rails and the 40-2's being replaced by the GEVo's to run along with the dash 9's? thought to ponder if and when it sure will make the hunt that much nore exciting. |

with the way they still use the sd9's I am guessing that the 40-2's will be around for awhile. prolly sell off the few sd38-39's and the sd45B's being that they only have like 5. then prolly move into the geeps. |

What and when the decided to retire it will be sad to see them go I'm sure the guys in the diesel shop would be happy to be more streamlined not having to stock parts for 30 loco types would help turn engines quicker not to mention the newer units having better fuel usage would help the bottom line. Hmmm maybe I should send in my application to become the next CEO of the BNSF |

The SD39s will stay around as they are hump power and are mated with the slugs, I want to say SD38s also hold down hump yard jobs. I would have thought the B units would have been gone by now but with traffic on the rise no doubt they are still proving useful earning their keep out there. |
