Lately my cousin and I have noticed unit coal trains to Becker with brand new cars from CP. Anyone else seen this? This seems strange to me up here in BN country. |

On recent trip up the Staples Sub we also noticed the new CP cars going into the the plant. |

I think CP had a slow down in coal traffic on their line, so they leased them out to the BNSF. |

Not very good planning to buy brand new cars and then not have a use for them. I wonder if something happend rather sudden to their coal business. Just as a side note............I was reading this morning that the bulk of the coal that CP hauls ends up in Japan. |

Yeah, I think it was something that came up not long after they bought them. I want to say it had something to do with a major mine they served in Western Canada, if I recall correctly, but I can't say for sure. |
