Guys-

I hate to post this here, but I feel something needs to said, and this is probably the forum that it will get read.

The emailing and complaining to the server host for the rrr.net radio feed for MPLS/St. Paul needs to stop. Consider it a luxury that we have a host here locally who is even willing to stream this to the internet. For one thing, rrr.net doesn't have the most friendly owners. They will not open another "port" for the host to stream additional coverage so that isn't even an issue. The host was originally getting complaints about the lack of hearing a continuous conversation between dispatcher and a train crew, so it was changed to limit the channels to make that happen, and unfortunately for those of us in the west/north/northwest metro, that meant the West Hump and Staples dispatcher channels fell by the wayside. Those 2 channels are probably the only 2 I really care about, but it's not my server. Bear in mind that the host is in Rosemount, so of most interest to THEM is the southern metro transmissions.

Again, its disrespectful to spamming the host with requests and malcontent on the existing coverage. Its not my beef per say, but being involved the public servers for ATCS monitoring, I offered to breach the subject here on the radio stream.

It would help if there was some logical reasoning to what channels are open. To have the East Hump (76) and Willmar (54) open but nothing between them doesn't make sense...for example.

I've echoed some of those same sentiments Mike. If it were up to me, I'd have Ch. 15 and the Staples Sub as the only 2 channels monitored, but as I said, its NOT up to me.

We're not owed any explanation of what makes sense or doesn't and your logic isn't obviously that of the server host. To each their own I guess...

Other than the Willmar dispatcher, I'd argue the rest does make sense.

I for one LOVED having it in "stereo" mode. yes sometimes hearing both speakers talk over each other was annoying, but I dont have the ability to tune left or right on the PC so I just delt with it by leaning closer to said speaker if I absolutely had to hear that specific coversation.

I too agree with mike, the trains kinda get "lost" in between. but then again, its not my server and by NO MEANS is this a complaint. I will never complain about something that I dont have the foggiest idea how to set up. if south is all we get then thats all we get.

Oh, and one other thing: behind the scenes a couple of people here locally (cough...Don Schoenberger....cough) are trying to get a "Twin Cities- North" stream up on rrr.net, but apparently the people that run that site are total ***holes about opening up more bandwidth so we're stuck with listening to the CSX Middle of Nowheresville feed...

Oh come on, who doesn't want to listen to the CSX feeds? I mean the accents alone warrant atleast laughter if nothing else!
