As part of the rehab of Union Depot in downtown St.Paul, a new railfan park has been opened. It is on the West Side of the Dayton's Bluff Wye, on the south side of Kellogg Blvd E. You can park at the meters on Kellogg (meters are free on Sunday) or you can park in the lot right at the park for $5 a day. It is better in the afternoon or evening as the sun is more favorable then. You can see all the way to the Warner Road signals, which lets you know if something is coming down the hill.

There is also a newer parking lot next to the hill behind the Downtowner car wash. You'll miss everything coming over from SSP and the Western Ave Yard, but it's fun to watch the traffic between Westminster and the Bluff.

SWEET. A must see if I ever get back to the cities.
