Are there any good places to watch Milw. 261 on Sunday and Monday? I have not gone west of Hwy 100 in St. Louis Park, I've only stayed on the bike trail to the east between 100 and 394. |

Between Hwy100 and a couple miles east of Wayzata it's pretty much solid trees on the both sides of the tracks with no crossings. There are a couple crossings about 2 miles east of Wayzata and two more in Wayzata. If you want to shoot if between Harrison St. and Wayzata you best get a head start because the train will be moving. Hwy 394/12 is the fastest way. |

Nicollet Island is one of my favorite places to watch trains, although I think there is some work being done on one of the crossings there. I know of a pedestrian bridge East of Hwy 100, not sure of the exact directions though. And there is Wayzata, which offers a couple of good viewing/photo spots. |
