All, Been a long time since I posted an update. Some points: Cannon Falls has been a major source of new traffic. 120 carloads for the transload center in january 2011. Sand, liquid chemicals and aluminum pucks were the traffic Randolph: new customer adding 40 cars a month. A new customer adding 100 cars a month and a increase in traffic to existing customer adding 12 cars in Janaury 2011 Eagan line: New siding put into business adding 12 to 15 cars a month Traffic across the board steady and in some markets regaining ground lost in the recession. We have acquired a new Sw-1500 that we will be using for a logistics move in Ohio for the next 18-24 months. When that move is complete the unit will return to MN for assignment. Joe |

I have a question: Will any of the former north-south Chicago Great Western main line be rebuilt in Randolph to help PGR operations? |

TonyH, Yes the former CGW mainline that is in place now is being rebuild, in fact the Randolph customers are out of service the next 3 days as the new switches for the elevator are being cut in. Exciting times. Joe |

Thanks Joe, Is there any possibility any of the abandoned CGW right of way on the north end of the yard might get tracks again for extra storage or tail track usage? I confess I would love to see some of the old CGW get rails again someplace. Mr. Stickney's spirit would smile if he saw that! |

there are no currently published plans to rebuild any of the previously removed trackage. As with everything PGR does it is impossible to say what may happen down the road. Remember 6 years ago the UP pulled the plug on this line. |
