Don't feel bad - the private photo charter even had the MNTX crews out of the loop unless you were involved with the charter. I was quite amazed tonight to see those shots thinking "I thought they were coming Sunday" till one of Jeff's had the explanation there of the charter run... He got a great shot on that bridge...

I got a call in the afternoon from my scout in New Brighton that the train was steaming east. I too was caught off guard and unaware wtg to anyone who got a chance to get some shots.

I just want to say that I had a great time this weekend chasing 2816. I followed it out to Maple Lake Saturday, and all the way to Dresser and back today. I got photos in nine different locations, as well as a couple shots of the Osceola & St Croix Valley Railway. I met a fellow railfan, had a nice chat with a CP employee, and best of all I got to spend the day with a good friend, even though they aren't as crazy about trains as I am. It was just wonderful.

But I also have some questions about the excursion on the 15th. Does anybody know the departure time, and what side of the river will it travel(I just don't want to sit on the wrong side and wonder "where the...")?

So how many of you got to Dresser today? I was working the OSCV train with MNTX 559 - the preshow for 2816 it seemed. That thing was something else to watch in action. And the fans were well behaved it seemed, we had no trouble with them - safe, stayed out of our way, etc. Quite the mob in Dresser and a lot of fans on the route too. So if you got photos post 'em! I'm sure curious as to how you guys shot our line...

I was there.. we chased it all day and I shot only video..

I'll put some up once I do some editing.

I dropped my hat while shooting out the window.. a good Samaritan picked it up( I saw in the rear view mirror) But I never ran into him after that
