I was thirty minutes early for a luncheon meeting at Champs on West 7th street in St. Paul the other day, when low and behold I see the Ford Hauler coming across 7th St. I took a few photo's and decided I would follow it up to the plant. As I was driving I thought "With the plant closing there won't be a lot more oppurtunitys to shoot this train" I grabbed a few more at the plant and went to the meeting. After the 1/1/2 hour meet was over I thought maybe I could catch a few more. The train was just leaving and I got more shots on it's way back to pigseye. This album contains shots from various locations along its route just so we remember. I also see that Aaron was out at the same time and caught this great shot at the wooden trestle. http://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=176356 Thanks Aaron |

In reply to your posted question on my picture, here are the directions: Shepard Rd. Turn on Randolph Ave towards the autorack/grain mill complex. Take the first right (Erle St) and the a right at the top of the hill onto James Ave. I park by the little business at the 90 degree turn where James becomes Duke. There is a walking path which crosses the tracks. "Natural grasses" and trees line this part of Shepard Rd and allows you to see the trestle. |

Is that the same way you got down to shoot the UP Heritage unit? |

I am pretty sure the Heritage unit was shot from the Western Ave Bridge, which is very close to where this shot was, Shepards road crosses the UP yard right where you took that first right by the elevator/auto unload facility. and right there is Western Ave, its the bridge over the tracks. and for the record, thats Elevator D, why its called D is beyond me |
