I first wanted to make use of a spot that was brought to my attention last July. I felt like making a video here today and it seemed like a good idea given the weather today. (A link to the video will be provided at the end of this report.) I then heard the DS talking about Amtrak, well my video would have to wait in this location as I quickly got packed up and on the move. I would later come back to this location and shoot video of a train. I then made the decision to hurry up and drive over to Newport where I could hopefully get up on one of the pedestrian overpass walkways in time to get a shot. Parking my truck and running up the spiral ramp I made it with plenty of time to spare.
I got a horn salute from Amtrak!

After going back to the location I wrote about above, and shooting my video it was time to move on. A quick pass through Pig's Eye didn't show me much so I decided to keep moving. I then decided to head over to Union Junction which turned out to be a good decision with the remaining light I had available.
I no more than pulled up to the fence when two SOO SD60s went by heading west. No time to setup for a video or pictures. I had passed the BNSF 5917 in Newport since it had to stop and wait for a signal. This was the train that was in my video in the location I described above. I was able to get a shot of it now as it came down grade through Union Junction.

Not the greatest lighting conditions but I liked how the shot turned out overall.
Next a CP train would come slowly eastward. The video does a decent job of allowing you to hear what they sounded like but it's not like being there in person. . .
Another westbound BNSF train came past me as well and had to slow down as it waited for signals. As what light remained I decided to make one last swing through Pig's Eye to see a couple trains sitting there waiting for signals. I then decided to head back to my place to edit video and a couple pictures.
Finally, here is the link to my video from today.
