Anybody else get photos of 2816 as it left Minneapolis today? I was able to catch it in Ravenna Township southeast of Hastings at 10am this morning, although I almost missed it due to bridge work in Hastings(about a 45 minute wait to get across...). But I got there just in time to get this photo. It was a thrill to see that go by at 50mph or so.

No, I didn't get out to see it. At 0815 I read that it was departing at 0830. With the little one and all, I wouldn't have made it anywhere. Nice location. I caught the 261 there last year. Great shot you have. I wonder if the 2816 is able to go 79 mph, the top number is the passenger train speed limit. |

On the return journey it will probably be back after dark. The double header excursions with 261 are your best bet. |
