You were right Aaron it was Alec Here's all my shots from Uni today plus a few a ran into before meeting up with Aaron. My fav is this shot with a pair of Catfish leading the Triple Crown train with all (Which thanks to Mike B's info is the only way they can run)Road Railers coming across the Midway Sub. Another shot I liked is this CP train heading past Union Jct. I shot this from "A grassy knoll" just west of Midway Stadium, a location I had never discovered before. One other intersting shot shows the steeper then I ever thought grade heading east on the Midway Sub around MP 6. All in all it was a nice way to spend a sunny Sunday afternoon. Thanks Aaron |

Alec, I knew right away when I read that, that it was going to be you! That's pretty funny though. You guys are sure correct about a lot of trains today. There were three trains backed up at Interstate when I drove past coming back from a crappy Twins game and both times I passed under the CP on Marshall, there was a train overhead. The first one was full of MOW equipment on flatcars. Anybody catch that one? I could see lots of activity in Northtown as well. Too bad I was busy today and in a hurry to get back home. I was on my way back to St. Cloud from my parents home in the Cities and I passed 4 trains all heading west. (Normally with my bad luck, I never see anything when I travel along the Staples Sub.) The most notable was the ex GP30 rebuild leading the unit rail train which Mike V caught. http://railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=199781&nseq=1 |

Wish I could have met up with you guys again. Work kept me away though. I do have the next two days off, weather looks awesome so I WILL be out and about. Hope to catch at least one of you somewhere trackside! |
