Anyone ever been to the Moffat Tunnel in CO??? I went there last April, for my second time. It's owned by the UP, for those who don't know. its 6.4 miles long and sit at an elevation of 6K feet. getting there is very exciting in itself, as there is 12 miles of gravel road, and the last 4 is private maintained by a park. I have some pics from my last trip where I caught a coal train, with 7 on point, two in the middle, and two on the end. if any of you ever get to CO. I HIGHLY suggest it, its about an hour from denver. IS there any tunnels in MN, that one can visit, I have always been a fan of tunnels shots, and want to get some more. |

Sounds like a great idea next time I'm through CO. Thanks for the tip. The only rail tunnels I know about in MN are Westminister Jct in St.Paul. You can see part of the tunnel network in this photo: http://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=125169 I forgot about this one: http://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=50045 Not sure if you can call that a true tunnel, more like a big bridge. Hopefully someone else knows where more are located in MN |
