I didn't see a great number of trains today, but I still enjoyed the time I spent out and about. I went to Hoffman to see what was there. A couple GCFX SD40s by the shops: http://goldeneye98.rrpicturearchives.ne ... id=1042825 http://goldeneye98.rrpicturearchives.ne ... id=1042826 The usual RLCX switcher was pushing around autoracks: http://goldeneye98.rrpicturearchives.ne ... id=1042843 Then what seemed like an eternity before a very short(20-25 cars) CP intermodal showed up: http://goldeneye98.rrpicturearchives.ne ... id=1042845 right as the CP stopped for a crew change, a BNSF with JB Hunt trailers sped by behind it(no picture). A couple minutes later a BNSF mixed freight passed by: http://goldeneye98.rrpicturearchives.ne ... id=1042846 On a whim I decided to follow it down river, getting ahead of it at Diamond Bluff, WI: http://goldeneye98.rrpicturearchives.ne ... id=1042849 http://goldeneye98.rrpicturearchives.ne ... id=1042852 Then it was over to Red Wing for lunch trackside. The Empire pulled into the station at 2:07pm, about five and a half hours late: http://goldeneye98.rrpicturearchives.ne ... id=1042855 Of note was the third engine in the consist: http://goldeneye98.rrpicturearchives.ne ... id=1042871 With not too much good light left, I decided to head home. The Red Wing switcher was sitting by the office: http://goldeneye98.rrpicturearchives.ne ... id=1042875 Nothing on the tracks that I saw between there and Hastings, but a few geeps were waiting at the old depot in Hastings: http://goldeneye98.rrpicturearchives.ne ... id=1042873 http://goldeneye98.rrpicturearchives.ne ... id=1042877 And with that I called it a day. |
