Video: (sorry for the low quality, youtube has shrunk their video size yet again. Pretty soon it'll be 40 pixels wide) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=75hiLUYXdIk The video is fun to watch, you hear our cameras firing off in rapid amounts as the train nears. Below you will find my shots. CP GEVO at Victoria Street. They reported the Como Ave Crossing gates to be malfunctioning. Couldn't quite see from our vantage point though. http://www.flickr.com/photos/railtalk/2295237489/ Next was from Lafayette Road in Saint Paul. The pigeons in the shot nearly attacked me. One nearly flew right into me, the other launched a white bomb that missed me by about five feet. http://www.flickr.com/photos/railtalk/2295236521/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/railtalk/2295236953/ Next stop was Union Junction. Possibly my favorite "metro" location. Victoria is pretty good too, as you loose the city affect with the trees. We were trying to eat our White Castle lunch - but the trains were too frequent. There were several we didn't even shoot because of clouds and being caught off guard by eastbounds. Average wait between train was only about 10 minutes. http://www.flickr.com/photos/railtalk/2296031232/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/railtalk/2295238391/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/railtalk/2295238857/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/railtalk/2296032582/ All in all, a great afternoon railfanning! It was cut a little short because John got called into work - part of being management though! As you can see by both of our photographs, we both did some great photoshop correction to fix the horrible haze that was a factor all afternoon. |
