Well I finally made it trackside for a few hours on Sunday. I've added 12 shots to this album starting with the 2 hour late Amtrak notching it up through pigseye. I had about 5 seconds to get this shot as I chased it down Warner Rd. I just wandered around the Metro for the next few hours catching what I could. My fav of the day was this UP across the river. I was initially disappointed that it didn't come across the Robert St bridge as I had been anticipating and set up to shoot, but this one was alright. All in all it was nice to get out for while and smell the diesel once again. |

Nice shots there X. One of my goals in the near future is to start trying some distant shots like the UP one you just posted. I'm a fan of that perspective and really want to try it soon. What are some of the better spots to try this type of shooting? Just looking for a good place to start. |

Thats all classified info John unless your riding with me of course OK OK I'll give ya a few spots. Anywhere across the river in St. Paul allows for a few shots like that. Take Robert St across the river and hang a right or left and get up along the river wall. You can get UP, CP, Amtrak and TC&W. If you really want a long shot take the High Bridge (Smith Ave) across to West St. Paul and you can get some shots like this. Next time we meet up I'll show you a couple of others that I've been trying to get for years. Bring your tripod as you'll need full zoom. Thanks for the compliment |
