...the CP still uses its wash rack!

Last time I talked to an engineer at the yard he said the costs of the washing materials was really starting to prohibit washing units on a more regular basis. I wonder if they are only doing the ones that are so dirty you could hardly make out which railroad it belonged to.

They have tlo use stuff aproved by the EPA or one of those agencies, there was an article in TRAINS not too long ago about it, I think the June issue.

Your lucky to see that. I hate washing locos when it is hot and they have no AC. You can only go .5 MPH and it gets hot in those cabs. That day i think it was about 120 in that cab when i finally got to open the windows up.

I once got to drive a AC4400CW leased to CP unit into the wash rack there. My cousin used to work for the CP there.
