Spotted at NTW on the no hump track was NSPX SW1200 #1 (ex-MILW) Does anyone know this unit is/was assinged? Bayport has #3 and Becker has an ILS unit. Also on the rear of the NTWGAL was WRIX SW1200 566 (ex-AMTK). Just another reason why I love the main line action of the Twin Cities you never know what is going to come past your camera |

Maybe it's from the nereby Riverside plant, Xcel is planning to convert all Twin Cities plants, except for Bayport, to natural gas. And the unit is leaving. |

The windows are shatter proof. They spider web like you see, but don't fall apart. I've had rocks thrown at me, slingshots launching taconite pellets, been shot at, and had a boulder dropped on my head end going under a bridge. I have never seen a window shatter. |

Those windows had a hammer taken to them. I had to run it hostling. All the impact points were right in the middle of each window... |

Isn't it called "tempering?" Are locomotive windshields thicker than those on automobiles? |

If they can't get the glass for it it would force it into being a trailing locomotive for the rest of its career. That's a sad fate for that old beast. |

I have a hard time believing that the CP cannot find replacment windows, nor "custom cut" some replacments. (sarcastic comment following) Perhaps the purchase of the DM&E has tapped all cashflow reserves that windows cannot be purchased? |
