Post subject: | A SOO-per Day |
I apologize for the horrible pun, but I thought my sightings today deserved a post here. I started out at University where I caught 183(?) arriving and backing into Shoreham: Then I went to downtown Saint Paul for lunch and came across two ex-MILW Geeps sitting along the bluff: After that I spent some time at Union Junction. First was a CP freight with two red SD60's on the point: As soon as that passed me, I saw another red SD60 approaching from the West: It was a light engine movement, which also happened to have another SOO loco tagging along: Not long after that, CP 182(?) headed East: Those were just about the only trains I saw today, except for a BNSF Z-train and a CP with two SD40-2s leading 5911 is one of only a few remaining large "multimark" SD40-2's on CP's roster if I remember correctly. All things considered it was a good day trackside, even if I only caught a couple trains. |

CP 5911 was 493, they broke a two knuckels. the light power, Soo 6055 and Soo 2066 gave them a knuckel and a ride back to the head end. I missed the two milw geeps but caught all the other Soo units at Uni. Soo 6042/6044 was the BN-CP with I think a BN crew, 6045 was 182. soo 6023 and Soo 6049 were on the CP-BN transfer to Humbolt also. definetly was a CP day, I only saw 4 BNSF trains in the 6 hours I was down there. my pics will have to wait till tomorrow, just finished editing. |
