I had about an hour after work today to check out a little rail action, wow I caught 7 trains in action. All I had with me was the old Kodak so most of these PICS are from bad angles and shot on the run etc, but it was sure fun!!
I started out down at pigseye and caught this CP local moving past a waiting TCW took the pic right through the windshield, I have no class :)
I then scooted back along Warner road to catch the before mentioned TWC as it was now on the move.
This one turned out alright, I might even try and post this one.
I then went back up through St. Paul and out of the corner of my eye I spotted a Blue engine, I pulled into the nearest spot I thought I could catch it. Turns out it was a Conrail engine being used as a DPU (I never saw the front of this train so I don't even know who it was)and it was passing a waiting UP on the BNSF Midway Sub.
Must be a lease from somebody but I couldn't tell who. Anything in your book Matt?
I then scooted over the tracks to try and get the UP that was waiting. I found out why it was waiting when this 3 way meet happened. Sorry this is the worst pic. A west bound CP in the foreground, and the east bound BNSF in the background were both moving at track speed. The before mentioned UP was sitting in the middle. I was lamenting my poor position for this rare site but at least I saw it. I thought that the UP would move after this but it had to wait as that earlier CP local came blasting up the West bound St. Paul Sub, lots of smoke pouring out. The UP finally got clearance after that went by. 5 Engines in that consist.
I also saw a crew change at pigseye accounting for the 7th moving train. No pic of that one. A very exciting 45 minutes and the longest post I have ever done. :D :D

I'll get back to you in a few about the Conrail, but my money says NREX. I cought the TCWR at Harrison St around 1640 as I was in route to the 261 shop, what a day I had in there.

Ok it is not an NREX. It is Norfolk Southern 6744 x Conrail 5621 SD60I. Seeing as it is now a NS unit I would assume it was on the NSINTW but only guessing on that part.

I am glad to see some posting going on in here! An exciting 3/4 of an hour to say the least. I didn't think those SD60Is were set up to be DPUs.

Maybe it was not operational, this unit was actualy the tail end of that train.

I thought it odd to see two engines pushing around here, although I have seen it on UP coal loads heading out to Bayport.
