You snuck in and then out Chris. It was great to see the sun for once. http://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=139785 http://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=139786 http://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=139793 You obviously found the back area of Pig's Eye. I did meet Jeff from http://therailfan.com/ who pointed out that the cab of Soo 1551 had a copy of Railfan in the window. |

HA! I work in Woodbury about 10 minutes from here and ventured over on my new way home from work... Seems 61 leads to Savage too.... All of those shots were taken in about 30 minutes.. There were two railfans there when I first pulled up. Not sure if they were anyone from here. I found the back area for sure... Wow.. Pretty cool. I wish I'd have know it was OK to venture back there before! The guy running the 1551 waved... I probably got 20 shots of it. I wish I could spend tomorrow chasing that UP you mentioned in that section but I've got family things to do... That will be fun too though! Everyone have a great weekend! ~Chris |

Yep, I was probably one of the two rail fans you saw. Check for a blue Jetta. Stop and say hi. One of the crew members came over and asked Jeff about his camera gear. |

I was in the green Jeep Cherokee... Was Jeff wearing a light colored shirt and in a silver car? If so, what was he shooting? I noticed the guy I am referring too seemed to hae some nice gear. I litterally just recieved an email from someone about the SOO switcher that stated: "Your shot of SOO 1551 misidentifies it as CP 1551. CP has done little to integrate SOO and D&H units into a common CP numbering system - (witness SOO 6000-series SD60s and CP 6000-series SD40s). The 1551 is clearly identified by its SOO lettering. It will be renumbered into the 1400 series when repainted as a CP unit. See http://www.trainweb.org/galt-stn/cproster/current.htm" Kind of interesting... ~Chris |
