Post subject: | Dresser Rock Trains |
I was little bored and somewhat fidegty this evening so the wife and I decided to take a drive. I decided to scout the route to Dresser Wis and see if I could find the Rock Quarry. Here's few PICS. You have to use your imagination as there weren't a whole lotta trains......... This is the off of the High Line in Withro. Next came one for , this is the private drive of his new home Then I found one for , the old depot in Dresser. Not wanting to miss , I found these rock cars. I found the sitting up one leg of the wye in Dresser. More pics of some decent looking locations to shoot and some further PICs of the 559 and the 6234 on Webshots. I also have a question or two. For Andy.....With the location of the 559, will you use the wye to turn that around for the return trip to Osceola and why is the train way up in Dresser? and for the group in general, Is there access to the tressel from either side of the River? I could not find one on the MN sdie. Hope you enjoy |

I got alittle worried until I saw the picture, that fits perfect. Aaron do you think you might have space on your compound for a spec house for me We all could use mass transit by catching the train at Alec's depot to the cities |

LOL! Thanks man, good to see that logo there. Looks like someone got bored and decided to put it up there years ago. Very interesting. Alec |

What time did you shoot 559? I know we had a charter this week so that might have been it. When we aren't running the usual Osceola-Dresser/Osceola-Marine on St Croix trains we sometimes get charter trains by school groups, etc. Helps the add to the budget and gives the equip. some weekday use. We don't turn any equipment that I know of when we are out there [at least it isn't a regular practice], I believe the locos just run around the train up there, they do at the south end... Bridge access over the river, can't help you there but I thought I heard there was. Don't quote me on it though. |

I shot the 559 about 6 or 7:00 Wednesday evening. It makes sense if you had a special excursion that it would be up that way. |
