The car in the photo above is an old Milwaukee Road snow flanger, rebuilt from a steam engine tender. The one in the photo is a double flanger, which means it can be pulled both ways without being wyed. Some had single flangers as well.

What makes this unit unique is the fact it was built from a tender of a L-2 class 2-8-2 locomotive, not many of these running around.
