Post subject: | Mystery rail grinder |
Not sure if anyone here has seen this thing yet... A little rail grinder has been in the area the last few days. I caught it at St. Anthony after work on Monday... http://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=163737 Does anyone know who owns it, reporting marks/number, etc? It had RailWorks very faint on the cab - almost looked like that had been peeled off... Loram usually marks their stuff pretty well so I'm not thinking it was them. Any help would be appreciated! |

I also have been trying to figure out who's it is. I found them working down at Pigsye a week or so ago. They were busily grinding the entrance to the bluff tracks. |

That is a Jackson Jordan switch grinder owned by Railworks, the numbers they have assinged to them are J-8, J-9 and J-10 its had to see from the shots which one it is but the number would be under the windos on the center cab. |

Wow - that didn't take long! Thanks for the help, I got a shot of the cab but it was so coated in grime that no numbers were to be found. If anyone hears it on the scanner it'd be great to add the full details to the photo. |

It must be the BNSF which is 'using' it. I saw it from 61 maybe 2 weeks ago. It was parked by King's Cove on the siding. I pondered turning around to try and get a shot of it, but I didn't. |

Well the Railworks grinder was working at University today, there was no sign of a road number on the cab that I could see, also saw a Loram grinder working in St. Paul on Soo 1 looks like a busy week for rail grinding around here. |
