Does anyone know if there ever was tracks over the Minnesota River by the airport? It would seem feasible since the tracks along Hiawatha that went thru Minnehaha Park would most likely gone all the way to Ft. Snelling. I could also see bridge footings that appeared very old in the water. This was many years ago so they might be gone now. It also seems odd that the Eagandale Line that the PGR operates on just ends around Hwy 13. It seems logical the tracks would've kept going North over to the fort.

I finally found a sketch and some info on this bridge. It only took me a few years.
Here is the link.

Below is a Mendota Bridge picture Vern Wigfield posted on his RRPA Contributor Site. The MILW line from Minnehaha Park down to the river is now the steeply graded walking trail below Ft. Snelling. On the other side of the river the Minnehaha line joined with the joint MILW/C&NW St. Paul line at (I think) Cliff Jct. The MILW line south from there was the "I&M" (Iowa & Minnesota), a section of which south of Cliff was abandoned some years back. The PGR currently operates the MILW I&M segment from Eagan to Rosemount.
