In the 90's, CN had trackage rights over BNSF. How did they get from Duluth to the Twin Cities? The Hinckley sub? |

I think by purchasing the WC, they went though Wisconsin and passed through Superior. But Hinckley would have a great route. |

Until 1998, BNSF handled CN trains to Chicago on their route. |

I remember seeing CN trains go through Northtown back then, esp. potash ones. Was a nice change to see them every so often... |

The CN really has a great mainline with the purchase of the Wisconsin Central. Add the DMIR in 2003, you have a manifest. The CN last winter was actually too clogged, and several (2-4/day) trains would be detoured over the BNSF Lakes Sub. |

I know about the former WC. I went to Duplainville, Wisconsin, and saw 7 trains in a few hours. |
