NP SW1200 105, actually former Lake Superior Terminal and Transfer 105, is about ready to reenter service. It has sat since Halloween weekend receiving maintenance and over the last weekend we finished the last work outside in the sunshine. http://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=156244 Usually it works over on the Osceola and St Croix Valley Railway in the summers but this summer it stayed at the roundhouse. Plans are to replace the Anderson Windows SW1 3110 on the caboose train at the roundhouse with 105 to let 3110 get some much needed shop time. [BTW - welcome to the new preservation section of the forums!] |

Went on over today and was happy to see the NP 105 back out on the rails pulling the caboose ride, we just had to jump on and take a ride. Keep up the good work over there |

Glad you come by - always something going on! 105 is doing fine on those caboose rides, a bit more power than needed but it sure sounds good. This weekend we also reunited 328 with its cab and shoved what is left of Peavey 14 [parts only unit] out to the yard and began preparing for the return of equipment from the OSCV... If you come by after the first of the month we should have a few passenger cars plus both locomotives back from up there. Just another reason to return! |

Got some pictures of the guys rigging the cab and was able to sneek in the shed (with an escort) to take a look at the projects going on. Everything is looking good. |
