The CP is inundated with 3 feet of water at the Reeseville Marsh outside of Milwaukee. CP can't expect to see rail there until at least next Wednesday (the 18th of June). Trees and other obstacles also fell onto the line.
ATM, CP is sending a lot of midwest detours through Canada from Vancouver, Calgary, Moose Jaw, Winnipeg, etc.
A BNSF bridge was ripped out by surging water on the Aurora Sub, but I don't know the status on that.
Unrelated to this area, but the UP transcon (60-80 trains/day) is flooded at Cedar Rapids in Iowa. Like the BNSF, this mess will probably get taken care of a while before the CP's.
Though Minnesota was relatively unaffected, this is the worst flooding the midwest has seen in 15 years. Wisconsin, Iowa, Illinois and Indiana are the hardest-hit.
I'll be driving to my cabin up near Detroit Lakes today, and will take note of any traffic or happenings on the CP.
