My curiosity was once again struck. I was wondering if anyone could tell me the historical significance of railroad related (if any). It's the building to the south of I94 and to the east of Kellogg Boulevard.

I got an e-mail response from John Hill with in it and he tells me the building I'm questioning would be off to the left of the frame.

I was wandering around down there on Saturday - several of the concrete slabs between the passenger cars in your historic shot are still in place.

The building you're looking at has something like "Lowertown Depot" painted on the other side of it - I suspect it was a freight depot or warehouse back in the day - it looks pretty dilapidated now.

I think that was Burlington's warehouse. Next to the park that occupies the site of the former Burlington yard there.
