I saw the signals in Harris. What I meant to ask is if the stop signs actually turn. I think that would be very cool to see. They might well be the last Griswolds with functioning stop signs left in America. (If they do work, that is.) |

Sorry I thought I said that. Yes they were turned. I was on business up that way when the train came through with no camera. Next day I was going that way again and brought the camera but no train so I just shot the signals |

There are still a few Griswolds around that still use the stop sign. The closest one is on the BNSF near the Grove yard. Last time I saw it, it was stuck on so it could have been 'fixed' since then. The other is on the BNSF Noyes Sub. There is supposed to be a few up there with the stop signs but I've never seen it personally. Pretty sad considering almost every crossing in the Twin Cities area at one time had Griswolds, or so it seems. |

I was in Pine City the nite of the 5th and happened to walk passed one of the two grizwolds on that crossing. the one was turned, but the other was displaying stop for the traffic and was humming loudly like it was stuck. so I think the're still functional in Pine City atleast. |

There are three in Hibbing downtown that have operating stop signs. The hardest part is to catch a train though. |
