Why does the MILW 261 have a diesel style air horn along with the normal steam whistle? I know that some streamliner steamers had air horns because you counldn't here the whistles a their high operating speeds. HELP |

I've heard [not sure if it is true] that it is there as backup - if some idiot looks like they are going to blow thru a crossing they can lean on that and get their attention faster than the more traditional whistle. |
