For those of you listening to the TC Audio Feed:
http://www.railroadradio.net/content/view/20/146/The host has recently switched to a better gain antenna which has increased the coverage, especially to the south. Currently the scanner is set to receive at least 21 channels. With so many channels it’s often that part of a conversation is missed due to the scanner moving channel and another frequency is now active.
Also, this summer the “plan” is to move the antenna from 22’ high to 60’ high. That should again increase the amount of coverage, only causing more chances of missed conversations.
As a possible “fix” for this; the host is considering dividing the feed between his location in Rosemount and a more north eastern location. The 2nd location is a good site, it’s ready to go on the air (it’s currently the main TC ATCS server site).
For a possible division of frequencies: The northern receiver might be set to scan:
1) BNSF West Hump
2) BNSF Northtown Yard,
3) BNSF Staples Sub
4) BNSF Midway repeater
5) CP Paynesville Sub
6) CN Minneapolis Sub
7) UP Altoona Sub
All remaining frequencies will be on the south scanner site:
