But now that I think about it, are these the tracks that go past the park with the old station and stuff? I have a photo of the split. |

Yes, those tracks continue north past the old depot & through the park. If you ever get the chance too, walk along part of the line just north of the 694 bridge. You can see parts of the old yard. Half is still in use while the other half has trees growing between the rails. I only live about a half mile from there, and when those coal trains come at night, it sounds pretty neat from my bedroom. I love hearing the dynos on the old EMDs when they slow down, and then the low bass as they start pushing the coal train onto the wye. Douglas |
