I was reading on The Railfan, an outfit located in Woodbury, that a picture ID and waiver of liablity allows one access to the yard in St. Paul. Anyone familiar with this? |

I have no solid proof of this, but one day when I was sitting down on Warner Road there was a Railfan who was/is a BN engineer up at Northtown. He and claimed to know just about eveyone who is anyone in Minnesota Railroading, He told me the same story, that you could not only get in the MN yard but that you could ride along for a day. I was pretty skeptical but apparently there may be some truth to what he told me. I would very much be interested in following through with something like this. Wish I had more solid information to share |

I've heard that too. I seem to remember someone posting to the MNRail list a year or so ago about how he signed a paper, then had free roaming about the yard. Tim |

I don't know if I will get a ride or if they would let me bring a camera - but a full report will be filed! Maybe it is worth a vacation day, huh? |

Yea A vacation day.................Now there's a worthwhile thought. I do have 4 days off for Thanksgiving but there's a lot of family plans already in place. Then it's off to Chicago for a few days, I'm afraid railfanning will be on hold for a week or so. I'll just have to keep up through the forums. |
