Post subject: | RailRunner Operations Have Begun |
Last night (Sat.) the first train using RailRunners ran into Shoreham. The train was 27 cars and arrived at Shoreham at about 0245 on Sunday. The train stopped at Cedar Lake Jct. for about 25mins which allowed me to get a night shot of the train. The empty today didn't get a track warrant on the Wayzata Sub until a little after 1800 but could have been waiting outside of Shoreham before that. Anyone see it? I was lucky to shoot it going through St. Louis Park but didn't have time to follow it. I'll put some additional information on my website along with some other news items in a day or two. |

How frequently does this train run? Pretty cool to have road runners into the prairie. |

Usually 2-3 trains a week plus the empties so 4-6 total. The TC&W will continue to use COFC for the 20ft containers so not every train will be using the RailRunner system. I think it will be every-other train, but not sure. Management is saying that a train will be running 7-days a week in one direction by November. Wait and see I guess. |

Bummer hope they can get a fix for the Railrunner, it seams that the COFC trains are running more often than I first thought. I have seen them arrive on Saturday and depart on Sunday two weeks in a row, I like seeing the change at University the more railroads moving past the camera the better |

I'm sure they will figure something out to make the RailRunner work. It's in use in at least one other place so it can work. Wait and see. The COFC trains are certainly running more and more. They have been running three trains a week (plus 3 empties) for a few weeks now. Soon a second crew will be added and they will be running 7 days a week. I wish they would make the trains longer though. 18 cars is enough, but 50 or 60 would be a lot cooler to see. Plus, they would need two engines. Maybe a second engine will be brought onto the property for the second crew. ILS have an SD9, don't they? |
