Post subject: | CP Geeps on St Paul Turn |
The eastbound St Paul Turn took the Midway sub today and it was powered by a pair of the usual Cats and a pair of CP Geeps. Another mechanic happened to catch it when we were at Jackson Street and said they were the flat ended passenger style [1500-series comes to mind, he wasn't able to write down the numbers]. So those of us working at Jackson Street all wondering - does this mean TCW has new power? |

No. At least four units are out of service currently so the TC&W is even more short on power than usual. The CP 8264 and CP 1513 were picked up on Wednesday at St. Paul. On Thursday the CP 8264 was s/o, for mechanical failure I think. The following day the CP 1512 was picked up so now the TC&W is running the CP 1512 and CP 1513, in numerical sequence. It's nice to hear three 567 engines (RRVW 406). I could just barely hear the CAT. |

Aww man, and here we were hoping that they had some new power Bummer that they are hurting that bad for working units, no fun having a sizable part of your fleet down... |

Just an update... One of the CP units was on today's train trailing a Cat and the ILSX unit. Too far away to grab numbers I'm afraid... |

The CP 1513 is on the St. Paul Turn today. The CP 1512 went west on the Glencoe Turn on Sunday night and hasn't come back. I'm worried that it's leading the Utility/Ruebel Turn since I probably won't be able to get out there any time soon. EDIT: The CP 1512 is on the Milbank Turn tonight, which is worse... |

I remember catching those two CP units together in Humboldt Yard from 2004 to 2006. Good to know that they are still running. I actually got a good shot of the two rounding Foley wye back in 2004. Douglas H New Brighton, MN |

The CP 1512 has been paired with a couple other units the last two days. |

A CP GP9 has been leading the St. Paul Turn WB everyday since December 26th. The TCWR 4301 and TCWR 302 are back from wheel truing and the GP9s weren't returned so they might be around for a while. They should just pick up a couple SD40-2s and be done with it. |

1512 and 1513 are back on the St Paul turn, today they both ran with 4601 and 1512 was leading westbound... Earlier this week it was 1513 only sandwiched with 4601 and 3516. |
