Hello everyone, Does BNSF power still stay on for the coal delivery to the sugar plant? Or does the TCW normally use their own power to deliver the coal? How does the business end of this work when TCW uses foreign power? Is the revenue shared between TCW and BNSF or does TCW simply pay a flat fee to BNSF? |

Yes, the BNSF power still stays on the coal trains for the trip as far as Sacred Heart. Ruebel can't handle the whole train at once so the balance is put in Sacred Heart or Bird Island. The empty has BNSF power as well. The power is received from BNSF in Appleton and runs light to pick up the train and then takes it to Appleton where a BNSF crew gets on. I don't know the particulars of the agreement, but normally the borrowing railroad (TC&W) is charged for the time the locomotives are on property and fuel used among other things. No profit is shared between the railroads. The BNSF (or whoever) gets paid for handling the train on their railroad and the TC&W gets paid for handling it on their railroad. |

Why call the town 'Ruebel' when it is really Renville? |
