The 1389 was/is wearing UP colors, not ILS colors like the 1390. Everyone I've asked thinks it will just get ILS paint.

Pure speculation but after they outshopped the Chicago Terminal units in the ILSX scheme but lettered for CTRR and logo I can see them doing that again, esp. with the similar maroon and gold look. The CTRR units keep their ILSX reporting marks but to the customer they look like they belong to the railroad... Check out ILSX 900 or 921 on the ILS roster - both came out of Horicon in the last few months.

As far as I'm concerned, anything but UP colors is good. I don't know how long the lease is for so that will probably have a say in how it's painted. I know the TC&W leased a unit from ILS before, the 1381 I think it was. The lease was very short, couldn't have been more than a month.
We'll see.

ILSX 1389 is out of the paint shop at Horicon in the simplified ILSX scheme [no yellow nose, etc.]...

The unit is now at Bethel, I assume getting inspected. It took almost a month to get from Horicon to Bethel. It's been there since the 19th. I'm guessing it will be coming back any day to start the lease on the 1st of June. Just a guess though.
