Today's #8 came through Saint Cloud at 5 pm this evening (12 hours late). Even more unusual was the train itself. BNSF 570 and 2766 were on the point, followed by 8 or 9 Superliners, then the baggage car, and finally three P42's brought up the rear (all three were facing the "wrong" direction). |

It sounds as if they had major issues before they hut Minot last night. Amtrak units for some odd reason have issues with there traction motors when they get wet. The BNSF units where taken off at Miday and the train was turned at the Commercial. The train departed with the Amtrak units leading without assistance at 20:31. Did you happen to see the MILW Hiawatha decal on the third unit? Must have been with the 261 some time last year. |
