Post subject: | The Layout Begins |
While the room my HO layout is scheduled to go into is still occupied by one of the kids, the work goes on at a furious pace during these winter months. There are over a dozen stand alone dioramas that will fit into the layout once it begins. The most recent is this pickle factory: The pickle business is pretty good as they just purchased this Milwaukee Road SD9 number 543 which has been in storage for 9 long years. The engine is scheduled to go into the shop for the addition of a decoder for DCC running as well as replacing the couplers (the front one is missing altogther) It might also get a little weathering, considering it's age. They also purchased the boxcar which has been in storage for those same 9 years, it is scheduled for the paint shop as well. The diorama itself is still missing some parts and pieces, the additon of two John Deer tractors with trailers is next as well as adding some crates and barrels to the dock area along with some working figures. The sign on the top of the building also needs a name. Any suggestions??? Once I place it on the layout it will expand to include two fields of pickles waiting for harvesting. 3 PICS in that folder offering different views. If there's enough interest I'll post some other PICS as I work through the process. |
