May be a dumb question, but any idea as to what AAR channel is what actual channel as programmed into the BNSF portable radio?

I'm putting all this info into a Motorola MT2000 with all the AAR channels 2-97, and instead of "85-85 BNSF RD" i'd like to be able to put "85-85 BNSF 2" or such.

Same for my A4 model MT2000, it has a 6-character top display and "BNSFRD" doesn't tell me anything, I want to put in "BNSF 2" and be done with it, since it will only have 16 railroad channels and the rest will be public safety.

I'm just trying to get all my radios programmed before I move so that I will be ready when I get there.

BNSF uses the AAR ch designations, so AAR 85 is BNSF 85. It would be to confusing if each railroad changed say AAR 15 to CP ch1 and BNSF has the same frequency on BNSF ch 5. What I have done on my radio is to program in the text "BNSF 15 West hump" and so on for each RR and frequency. Below is a partial list of the BNSF in the metro area, *it may not be 100%* I can download my radio and send you an exact copy of what is in mine. If you would like PM me in the forums.

Maybe I should clarify...

If I were to take a conductor's portable radio (Most often a Motorola MT1000 or HT1000 16ch) and read it in RSS, what channels would I find.

As an example... If I read an NS Piedmont Div portable radio, I would get:

CH1 160.950 160.950 AAR 56-56 > NS Road 1
CH2 160.245 160.830 AAR 09-48 > NS Road 2 Train to Disp
CH3 161.490 161.490 AAR 92-92 > NS Yard

I dont know for sure but when I worked for CP I had a 15 channel radio, and 1 and 2 where my main road and yard, and then there were some BN channels and then the UP channels and one MN commercial, and a weather channel. I could take it to the radio house and have any one taken off or added so I assume that the BN is differnt then the one I had
