Somehwere in all these posts ,someone posted something about two passenger cars being moved by I thought the MNNR. Speculation was that they were heading down to the Jackson St Roundhouse or out to Osceola for their tour train.
To my surprise I saw both of these cars sitting in White Bear Lake by the old depot. Apparently MNNR does not have a lot of business up in Hugo these days as they are just sitting on the main line.
WBL has a restored NP caboose there and I'm trying to find out if their going to add these two passenger cars to the collection.

Read a post on the Yahoo site by Andy, that the cars where heading your way for the weekend for some type of celebration and than back to Osceola where thay are to be placed in service on their train.

It wasn't a heavily advertised event, one of those local community festivals that all cities seem to have in the summer. It just happens that this one had passenger cars involved... They needed a couple passenger cars for a display, we had a couple extra for the weekend, and with them right on the MNNR it was an easy way for them to add some railroad history to their festival.

Thanks Andy, I see you've been pretty busy with the camera lately. Some nice shots. I really liked the one coming through the tunnel at Northtown.

You said that the MNNR does not have much business in Hugo anymore. I thought business was growing up there? What type of industrys are up there?

There's only two business north of WBL that get rail service. One is a food processing company and gets tank cars with I think oil of some sort. The other is a cabinet making company and they get the lumbar cars. I travel that route a fair amount and I have seen few of either up that way lately.
