The bridge work over the last few years resulted in the addition of a sidewalk across the river. This crosses the UP's Mankato sub. I recently had the patience to wait 45 minutes for a coal train. You can only see to the east, overlooking the St. Paul Boat Club. Late winter may make the shadows in valley incompatible with photography; but summer and fall should be worthy.

And Xrayguy, regarding the email, no I hadn't even heard of the location you asked me about. I will have to check it out. I would like to check out the Mendota bridge (I think that is Highway 55).
