The day started out sunny, warm and almost to perfect to railfan
if that is possible. I arrived just as BNSF 4869 was spotting a string of grain cars on bluff track 1. This would later turn in to CP383 lead with a one unit wonder CP 8620. Things where to quite with no action for almost an hour, that is until xrayguy showed up and things got started. BNSF Z-PTLCHC flew through the yard followed closely by the Z-SSECHC, about the same time the V-LPCMIN arrived to do some pickup some cars off the auto ramp and ended up staying for much of the afternoon as they had several problems the biggest was a broken air hose that caused them to unhook what they had just retrieved and do everything twice. While watching these guys going back and forth an unidentified UP train lead by NS 9813 and two CN units blew through the yard. CP 882 was next to come off the hill and arrive for a main line crew change (this is BNSF power with a CP crew) and depart quickly as track space was running low. CP's Ford hauler slid down the old eastbound with only four cars in tow, sad times ahead for the plant I'm afraid. TCW departs with their almost set your watch by train heading for the park. The mentiond train with the problematic engin was the Z-CHCSSE not much of a Z train they had to wait for the auto train to clear before they could set out the bad order loco almost 3 hours after they arrived this was accomplished and off they go. Playing beat the clock I decieded to wait for one more train the CP Roseport extra was just about to arrive when as luck would have it out pops an Bandit Soo MP15 with a string of grain cars ruining any photos. Well I think that covers it between myself and xrayguy it was a great day indeed.
